Cátedra Salvi de Arpa (master-classes)
The Cátedra Salvi de Arpa is an educational program created in September 2006 by the Salvi Foundation in partnership with the National University of Colombia.
Its objective is to support the processes of academic formation, with emphasis on the interpretation of the classical harp, aimed at Latin American harpists, who are trained for one week a year, in a series of master classes with artists of recognized international career, mainly with Emmanuel Ceysson (France), recognized harpist of great importance in the international arena and currently main harpist of the Metropolitan Opera of New York. Maestro Ceysson alternates the teaching of the Cátedra with the Israeli harpist Sivan Magen.
The Universidad Nacional (National University) in Colombia has played an important role as an institution that coordinates the development of the academic content of the Cátedra, its approaches and vision for the future, hand in hand with the direction of academic programs of the Salvi Foundation.
In its different editions, the Chair has had several sponsors, such as the French Embassy in Colombia, the Israeli Embassy in Colombia, Compensar, the Bogotá Cámara d Comercio and the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
Currently, the XVI edition of the program is supported and sponsored by Mayra de Esquenazi, who has a social commitment to music and academic excellence, and who in various ways has supported the initiatives of the Salvi Foundation.
